I realize, as I look back on how I have titled this blog, that I really should have called it " Life is an Adventure" rather than life begins at 50. I don't really believe life begins at 50. I do believe, as I mentioned in my last posting, that we go through various stages in life and, for me, 50 seems to be the beginning of a new stage. This past week, I was able to enjoy one of the perks of being 50 and having older children; my husband and I went away for a few days- first to enjoy some time by ourselves, and then to visit a special aunt and uncle out of town. What a treat! It has only struck me this summer that this is honestly something we can do- really as often as we like, since our 17 year old is more than capable of handling things without us, even when her older sister is not around. One of the freedoms we have not experienced in a very long time! It is nice to be at a point in our family life when I am not responsible for everything. I can delegate, I can trust. And that truly brings relaxation up to a new level.
